This is the start of the criminal prosecution before they can arrest someone is to investigate and find evidence of what happened after this a brief assessment will occur.

Brief assessmentA brief assessment is where the police department will look into the evidence and do an autopsy. They will decide if there is a proper reason for your conviction and whether the charge will be maintained.
Step 2: Brief assesment
Evidence
Charging is where the pd would come and arrest you under the charge of manslaughter initiating the process of having a hearing to decide if you do the time. There are three levels of court and if you were charged for manslaughter you would be going to criminal court.
Jimmy Nectar you are under arrest for the murder of Leslie scone. you do not have to say anything. I will be taking you back to the station. And you will be going to a criminal court.
Step 3: Charging
When a serious crime occurs it might require a committal hearing. This is where a judge will observe, listen or read the evidence and decide if it is valid enough for the defendant to go through a trial with either supreme court or district court.
Step 4: Committal proceeding
I have decided this evidence is sufficient and you can go to supreme court for your hearing.
A hearing will occur at the magistrates court or a local court. When the hearing begins you will see the evidence presented and the judge will have to decide it. It will go to the supreme court for the final trial and that is where a possible conviction can happen.

Step 5: Hearing
Once the hearing is over it means you will either go to supreme court or your district court. In a trial there are jury duty members and lawyers involved. At the end of the trial the jury will decide if the defendant is guilty or not guilty if they are guilty they will be sentenced.
The jury's verdict is guilty!
