  • Snowball is drive off the farm.
  • Bye. We didn't want you anyways.
  • Everyone is hungry.
  • The animals suffer from hunger after the farm harvest declines.
  • We don't have enough food to feed everyone!
  • Napoleon begins limited trading with humans.
  • No animal shall communicate with humans nor use their products.
  • Napoleon how could you do this to us! I thought we weren't supposed to use human-made products!
  • After the animals collectively agreed that Snowball was interfering with their plans, they drove him off the farm to be free from the "lies circulated by Snowball" (64).
  • Trotsky is ousted and goes into exile.

  • As winter approached, the farm harvest began to decline. They didn't have enough corn and potatoes to feed the whole farm and "the animals had nothing to eat but chaff and mangels" (74).

  • After the rise of Stalin, Trotsky lost his government positions and was expelled from the Soviet Union in 1929. He spent the rest of his life in exile writing about Stalinism.
