- Stage 2: Protest
- Rhodes set up a group to try and over through the government, but they failed and the british and the boers are at war. The war lasted for 3 years and the British won the war. The british let the boers use the afrikaans language in their schools so that they would stay peaceful.

- De klerk thought that mandela would do better for his country and he did nothing to stop the war and thousands of black south africans died in 15 months. some whites do not support de klerk. In 1950 they launched a campaign of civil disobedience and it violated the law, the south african government responded madly. the british and the boers were against each other
- Stage 4: Recovery
- Black children school peacefully marching protesting and police fired and killed many. in the 1980s the government faced with the protesters at there home and the government retreated and still denied the black afrikaans.
- The government changed when F.W De Klerk became the president the first thing he did was take mandela out of jail and they became partners and the changed the law so that everybody can vote. the had there first election in 1994
- When F.W De Klerk was elected he helped heal the wounded of the past and ends racism. It is changed so that everybody is equal and race does not matter. The apartheid era government has committed "gross violation of human rights including kidnapping an murder" apartheid groups are being held responsible for killing ans torture
