I have to get rid of those Christians! I must make the Jewish leaders happy!
Knock! Knock! Knock!
However, King Herod, king of Judaea was being mean and hurting many Christians because he did not believe in God. He was trying to make the Jewish leaders happy, as they also didn’t like people believing in Jesus.
Peter is at the door!
KNOCK! KNOCK! KNOCK!
Peter went to the house of Mary who was the mother of John Mark. Many people were inside and were praying. Peter knocked at the entrance.
A servant called Rhoda came to open the door. When she heard Peter speaking outside the door, she was so happy, she ran back into the house without even opening it!
God cares for Peter! The Lord saved Peter from King Herod! What an amazing miracle! We must tell everyone!
When Rhoda came back to the praying group, she shouted “Peter is at the door!” No one believed her but everyone could still hear knocking, so it meant that Peter could be at the door!
Carefully, they opened the door in amazement and saw Peter standing there! Peter told them about how the Lord had sent an angel to make a miracle happen to him. He told them to tell everyone about God's miracle for him and his escape from prison.
Peter said goodbye and decided to leave Jerusalem before King Herod found out what had happened and caught him again. So Peter left, knowing that Jesus cared for him and had saved his life through a true miracle.
