Today we will be going over the meaning of substitution and we will go over example as well.- Definition of substitution: solving a linear system by substituting one variable from one equation into the other equation. Q's: y = -x + 8 x - y = 4 Step 1:The equation 1 is y = -x + 8 so you can substitute -x + 8 in equation 2 for y.x - y = 4x - (-x + 8) = 4x + x - 8 = 42x - 8 = 4 2x = 4 + 8 2x = 12x = 6
Step 2: Substitute x 6 in equation 1 to find the corresponding value for y.y = -x + 8y = - (6) + 8 y = 2Thank you guys so much for watching I hope you guys understood everything and enjoyed todays video. BYE!
