The Time of Troubles

The Time of Troubles began after Ivan The Terrible's death.
The throne was passed down to Tsar Theodore but he let his brother-in-law, Boris Godunov do all the heavy lifting in politics.
When Theodore's infant brother Dmitri died, the only successor to the throne, it was rumored that Boris killed him.
Theodore died in 1598, and with that, the Russian throne fell into the lap of Boris.
A Dmitri impersonator convinced Poles that he was legit and he, along with the Polish army, stormed Moscow.
As False Dmitri the Polish Army closed down into Moscow, Boris suddenly.
Although he took Moscow, he was soon murdered by Orthodox Russians for bringing Catholicism.
