Who were the progressives and why did the movement begin?
Well, the progressives consisted of a few different members, like farmers, settlement house workers, union members and Muck breakers. And the movement began because of low wages, long hours and a ton of safety concerns.

The progressives wanted to fix all the unfair things happening back then. They got the 17th Amendment passed so people could vote for senators, the 19th amendment so woman could vote, and made laws to stop child labor. They also pushed the Pure Food and Drug Act to keep food and medicine safe and created workplace safety laws to protect workers. Basically, they just wanted things to be more fair,, safe, and less corrupt.
What were some of the goals achived by the progressives? And why did they support those?
Csúszik: 3
Yes, the progressives did have some failures along with their success. While they made big changes in governemnt, labor, and health, many of their reforms didn't help everyone equally. For example, they supported segregation in some cases and ignored racial discrimination. Many reforms also didnt reach poor or immigrant communities the way they were supposed to. Still, they succeeded in making government more democratic, improving working conditions, protecting consumers, and expanding rights for woman. But overall, they helped create long lasting changes.
what about their failures? did they have any? How did they fail and succeed?
