- WOW!!!!
- I have a disease that makes me stay in my house or else I can get really sick.
- Maddy has a rare disease called Severe Combined Immunodeficiency which means she cannot leave her house or else she will get sick. She has not left her house in 17 years. Unlike other people, Maddy's body cannot fight off dailt infections or germs like others can.
- Olly are you okay?
- MADDY! What are you doing? Go outside.
- A new neighbor moves in next to her. His name is Olly. They message each other over email. Maddy likes Olly and Olly likes Maddy back. Maddy does not inform her mom about her and Olly talking.
- Sometimes a minute is all it takes. No more emailing him.
- It was just a minute
- Maddy gets to see Olly thanks to her nurse Carla. Maddy tells Olly how she has a very rare disease and cannot leave her house.
- Maddy goes outside for the first time after 17 years. She saw Olly and his dad fighting and Maddy wanted protect Olly.
- Maddy's mom finds out about Maddy and Olly messaging each other and does not let Maddy and Olly meet or talk anymore.
