Aside from the gas mask and traffic light, Garrett Morgan made many other contributions to society. Some of these included a zig-zag stitching attachment for sewing machines and a hair oil dye and curved tooth comb to straighten African American hair. He also established a newspaper by the name of the Cleveland Call in 1920.
