  • Rainsford and his partner Whitney are on the way to the Amazon Rainforest to hunt jaguars. They then have an argument about animals. Rainsford thinks that animals do not have feelings, meanwhile Whitney believes that animals do have feelings.

  • Zaroff invites Rainsford to dinner, where they talk about hunting. Zaroff says that he is getting bored of hunting animals and wants a bigger challenge. Rainsford quickly realizes that he means humans. Then he puts the pieces together even more and realizes Zaroff means him.
  • A Good Night Sleep
  • Rainsford has no option but to play the game, because otherwise he will be beaten by Ivan. Zaroff explains the rules to Rainsford. Rainsford will have 3 days to survive from Zaroff, and if he doesn't, he loses. Zaroff will have to find him within 3 days. Zaroff has never lost, but that may change right now.
  • After setting multiple traps and not succeeding, Rainsford begins to worry that Zaroff has brought out his hounds. Rainsford ends up getting found by the hounds, and after an endless run through the jungle, Rainsford has to jump a cliff to survive. Zaroff thinks that Rainsford died because he jumped the cliff.
  • Zaroff returns home after thinking he won, yet again. Rainsford suprises Zaroff and challenges him to a duel. When Rainsford wins, Zaroff is fed to his houndss. Raainsford then says it was the best night sleep he ever had in General Zaroff's bed.
