In The Monsters Are Due on Maple Street by Rod Serling, one of the main themes is Violence is never the answer. My first piece of evidence to support my theme is when the play first starts,and the power went out and all the residents on Maple Streetwere accusing each otherof being the monster (the reason the power went out). After that, everything went out of control. FOr example, when Les Goodmans car started up all by itself even though there was no power. This supports the theme because even though he wasnt near the car and there was no power to start the car in the first place, people still thought he was the monster. After that, everything went out of control
