"I thought so. Are you a Telepath?
How does he know...?
"You are! I can't believe it! It's okay, I'm one too. My name's Fitz."
The boy explains that his name is Fitz and Fitz realizes that Sophie is a Telepath, or a person who has the ability to read minds. Fitz explains that he too is a Telepath.

My father sent me to find you, because you're not human.
"Not human?"
"Yeah. We need to go back to the Lost Cities, where all the other beings with special abilities are."
Fitz explains that like the other Telepaths and people with powers, Sophie isn't human. He says that he was sent by his father to find her and take her to the Lost Cities, where most Telepaths and others with special abilities are. After a while, Sophie reluctantly agrees to go with him to the Lost Cities.
