- Paul Cuffee was born on January 17th, 1759 and died on September 7th 1817. Paul Cuffee was born during the French and Indian war in Cuttyhunk Island, Massachusetts. His father died when he was young. He got married on Febuary 25, 1783 and had 7 kids from 1783 to 1799. He knew the carreer that he wanted before he knew the alphabet. He was also very religous.
- He went to Africa to help with the African colonization plans of the American Colonization Society,but he was alarmed at the overt racism of many members of the ACS. When he died in 1817 he never got the chance to go back to Africa. He was also a businessman.
- He was the first african American Billionaire and helped organizations such as the American Colonization Society. He also changed the way the government looked at African Americans.
