Hello! My name is Jim, I've accidentally detached myself from the ISS and am currently awaiting my death, so while I wait, today I will teach you about the Reasons for Season, and more!
First, seasons happen because of the tilt of the Earth's axis. More direct sunlight results in more concentrated energy, while a lower angle causes the sunlight to be spread out causing less energy. The length of the day is also effected: summers have longer days while winters have shorter days.

In addition, there are two equinoxes, the Spring equinox (March 21) and the Autumn equinox (September 23). On these days the hours of sunlight and no sunlight are the same.
However, in the Arctic and Antarctic circles, the sun doesn't set during the summer and doesn't rise in the winter due to the extreme tilt of the Earth.

By the way, did you know that between the Tropic of Cancer and Tropic of Capricorn, there are only two seasons because of the consistent warm temperatures?
Well, thanks for listening. Time to float around for a week until my life comes to an end. See you around!
