- Quartering Act - March 24, 1765
- Townshend Acts - June 15, 1767
- Tea Act - May 10, 1773
- The Quartering Act was a rule that stated citiznes had to care for the British forces inside of their village. They had to provide food, shelter, drink and transportation. The Quartering Act led to the revolution because this rule was an early conflict that caused tension between the colonies and the British government.
- Intolerable/Coercive Acts - 1774
- The Townshed Acts were designed for the British to gain money off of the American colonies by taxing imported goods. It led to the revolution because people were angry with what was happening and thought the rule was an abuse of power.
- Salutary Neglect - March 22, 1775
- The Tea Act was a time when the British had debt that they needed to pay back to Europe and the only way they could pay off that debt was putting tax on tea in the American colonies. The Tea Act led to the revolution because it caused conflict and the colonists dumped the British tea off the ships to get back at Britain. (Boston Tea Party).
- Common Sense - January 9, 1776
- Common Sense
- The Intolerable Acts were passed to punish Massachussets for the Boston Tea Party. It was the final push that led to the outbreak of the revolution.

- The Salutary Neglect was a policy where the colonists were left on their own to govern because the king didn't enforce his own rules. It led to the revolution because trade restrictions were lifted allowing the merchants to succeed.
- Rules
- Common Sense was written by Thomas Paine suggesting that the colonies needed independence and a democratic government to be put into place. It led to the revolution because it gave insight to the colonists to no longer be a part of the British Colonies but to be their own.
