King Louis XVI and his wife Marie Antoinette ruled France and were horrible rulers. King Louis was indesivse and immautre, he faced enormous debt and rising resentment. Marie Antoniette was just as hated as her husband was. She contributed to King Louis poor desicion making and immatureness by enabling it. Both of them with expensive spending habits caused France's debt to worsen.

Reign of Terror
In 1789 France, the main food of the commoners was bread. A poor French economy had led to a scarcity of bread and high prices. October 5, 1789, a large group of women in a Paris marketplace began to revolt. They began to march through Paris demanding bread at a fair price.
Rule of Napoleon and his accomplishments
Ultimately unwilling to cede his royal power to the Revolutionary government, Louis XVI was found guilty of treason and condemned to death. He was guillotined in 1793.
The Reign of Terror was a dark and violent period time. Radicals took control of the revolutionary government. They arrested and executed anyone who they suspected might not be loyal to the revolution.
Napoleon crowned himself emperor in 1804. He was ambitious and a skilled military strategist, Napoleon successfully waged war against various coalitions of European nations and expanded his empire.
