- Underlying Cause: Competition between France and Great Britain
- Event: Albany Congress
- I agree we shall call it the Albany Plan of Union
- We need a plan to collect taxes and recruit soldiers to aid in this war.
- Event: Native Americans Take Sides
- Prior to the Seven Year War/French Indian War Great Britain and France had been competing with each other for years. And since they were always attempting to one up each other, they were fighting over who could have more land in America as well.
- Direct Cause: Ohio River Valley and Fort Duquesne
- So, the French are trying to make it look like they are owning this territory. We'll show them who really owns this, if it's a fight they want it's a fight they'll get
- The congress was the idea of the British government so the colonists could coordinate for colonial defense, it was here that seven of the colonies adopted the Albany Plan of Union developed by Benjamin Franklin. The Albany plan of Union was used to recruit soldiers and collect taxes to aid in the war. Each colony was too jealous to stick to a uniform tax so it didn't take place but it set the tone for revolutionary congresses in the late 1770s

- Event: British Victory
- The French began to set up forts within the Ohio River Valley as a way of saying that they wanted the land there and were willing to pick a fight with the British to get it. The British were not super concerned about it, but they were also interested in the land, so they were planning on fighting for that land.
- This will piss the British off for sure and they will know that we have military might and are not afraid to fight them for this fertile land
