Trunk is to be put in the trainers hand for insertion of saline through syringe(Slowly brought by trainers also known as desensitization).
The elephant has to keep its trunk up to let the saline solution run to the base of its trunk and to hold it there.

The elephant now expects chopped bananas when the whistle is blown which make it a neutral stimulus
