Fever 1793 is a story about a girl who survives yellow fever and her struggles. My favorite part of the story was when Nataniel threw flowers out the window to Mattie. Later in the story, Mattie takes Nell to the orphan house. When they get to the orphan house, the lady who answered the door tells Mattie that Nell would be better off with her. Mattie and Nell were walking back from the orphan house, they walked past a house, and flowers were falling from the sky. Eliza said we have had some strange weather, but I never knew flowers could fall out of the sky. Mattie realized they were by the painter's house where Nathaniel could be. This is important because it shows that people are still in Philadelphia, and Mattie hopes Nathaniel will be safe.
