FORMATION OF SOLOR SYSTEM

  • Let's learn about how the Solar System was created. The prevailing hypothesis is called the Nebulas Hybothesis. The first step is a cloud of gas and dust form in other words a nebula forms.
  • cloud of gas and dust
  • Then, a space incident like a shooting star or the shockwaves from a supernova disrupted the cloud causing a gravitational collapse in the middle of the cloud.
  • Then, groups of gas and dust starts to collect together forming heavy areas in the cloud. Then the matter starts to spin as the clumps gather more and more dust, forming a flat rotating disc
  • As the clumps spin in the flat disk, they become larger and larger as metallic materials collect into the clumps. These clumps become planets. At the center is a large lump that is a protostar, which eventually becomes the sun.
  • After about 50 million years, the hydrogen at the middle of the protostar becomes so dense that fusion begins. This means that protostar is now a full star and burns giving heat and light to the planets.
  • Next, the solar wind generated from the fusion blows away all remaining dust and gas in the solar system, which completes the planet creation process.
  • With the planets formed and the sun providing heat and light, the solar system is complete! Many believe that the Nebula Hypothesis explains most solar systems.
