- Brutus's speech- logos
- I have done no more to Caesar than you would to me. His death has been recorded in the capital."
- Brutus was using the good of rome as an excuse to back up why he killed caesar. He was trying to justify his actions by saying it was for the good of rome, not just because he wanted caesar for his power. by saying this he is using ethos to make them think he has a planned idea of why he did it and have a reason.
- anthony's speech-Ethos
- " if I wanted to stir your hearts and mind in rebellion and rage, then i would wrong brutus and cassius who we all know are honorable men"
- In this part of brutus speech he's talking about how he had to kill caser so that rome can stay safe. He used pathos to win love the people's trust by saying he loved them all more the caesar so they would think brutus was killing caesar for all of the people and making sure they were ok before his friend ship came between the good of rome.
- anthony's Speech-Pathos
- "bear with me; my heart is in the coffin with caser."
- In this part he is using logos to make them killing him in the capital an excuse saying he was justified for being in the capital when he died. Meaning he was worthy in his life and that he will not be diminished for being killed and still be honored by the gods.
- Anthony's Speech-logos
- "I don't intend to read- they would go and kiss dead caesar's wounds. they'd dip their handkerchiefs in his scare blood as keepsake."
- Anthony's saying brutus and cassius are trust honorable men over and over again reassuring the crowd that what they did was for a good thing because the people will take Anthony's word for it causes he's a credible person they all trust using ethos to make the people trust in brutus and cassius.
- THe emotion this part of the speech is key to having the citizens pick Anthony side, he's basically saying that he died with caesar and caesar was his everything. Adding this part made ending his speech made the citizens think about how much Anthony loved caesar.
- In the end of Anthonys speak he put his emotions aside and lead with logic. He thought of what he had to do for the sake of the people and didnt read the will but invited them to take their handkerchiefs to dip into caeser's left over blood.
