A Story of Strength and Smiles

I want to share a impactful story of Gina, she is diagnoised with SLOS, which is syndactyl Lemli- Opitz syndrome.
As an educator, when examining Gina's education, I can't help but feel that there weren't enough systems or support in place to assist her academically. During the search for a preschool, Gina's parents were devastated by the lack of stimulating or enriching environments available for her.
Hi I am Gina, I have SLOS, but that doesnt defined me, I love going on adventures and like to challenge myself to try new things.
For a significant period, Gina was in an environment that didn't foster socialization, peer interaction, and lacked access to assistive technology. Annual goals consistently indicated that she wasn't meeting expectations. Consequently, her parents decided to enroll her in a new program. In this new environment, Gina became actively involved in school activities, including anti-bullying programs. The change had a significant impact on her learning and overall progress.
