- The teacher will firstly ask a few questions about the south African coins to test their general knowledge about money.
- PHASE 4

- The instructions are as follows: Leaners will take turns to play, In each round the learner will be given a container that has SA coins and they have to pick a coin of their choice. After they have picked a coin , they have to jump across the 3 steps while counting 1-3 loudly as they jump . Then they have to place the coin in the correct container according to the animal/ plant that is printed on the coin. Lastly they have to touch a colour that is on the wall depending on the colour of the coin.

- 1,2,3 20 c goes to the king protea container. The colour of the coin is bronze !!

- The teacher starts the play activity. one of the learners go first. They are given the container with the coins , they pick a coin of their choice ( R1, R2, R5, 50c or 20c ) and they begin to play.

- The learner starts playing the game. He takes the R1 coin that he picked from the container , he pays very close attention to the colour and the animal that is on the coin. he jumps 3 times while counting 1-3 aloud, places the R1 in the springbok container and he touches the colour silver on the wall.
- GO, GO , you can do it !!

- The next learner takes their turn to play the game . This goes on for 3 more rounds till learners fully understand the objective of the play activity.

- After the 5 Rounds of the game is played. The teacher will ask overall questions such as the colour and animal / plant that is on a specific SA coin to ensure they effectively understood the objectives of the play activity.
- The colours silver and bronze are on the R5 coin .
- The black wild beast animal is on the R5 !!
- Well done to the both of you!! Now can you all tell me the animal and the colour that is on the R5 coin ?
