- George F. Kennan published an article with his idea of a containment policy. This policy was the idea that the Soviet Union would only expand if it was safe to do so. Kennan wanted all of America to join forces and warned Americans that it would not be a short easy task
- There is a Iron Curtain that has spread across the continent of Europe. We must stop the Soviet Union from spreading and expanding their Communistic Ideaologyies with the rest of Europe. We must stand strong Allies

- Berlin Airlift
- The United States dropped tons of food and supplies in the city of Berlin. The Soviet Union had blocked all other ways of transport and the people of Berlin were starving
- With the threat of Communistic ideas being spread throughout Europe 12 Nations joined together and formed the North Atlantic Treaty Organization to provide collective security against the Soviet Union.
