  • CARBON DIOXIDE ENTERING THE PLANT
  • CARBON DIOXIDE
  • WATER ENTERING THE PLANT
  • WATER
  • SUNLIGHT ENTERING THE PLANT
  • SUN
  • In photosynthesis, the first reactant listed is carbon dioxide. For autotrophs, like the sunflower, carbon dioxide enters the plant through the stoma. Without carbon dioxide, photosynthesis wouldn't be able to happen.
  • GLUCOSE GETTING STORED IN THE PLANT
  • The second reactant listed is H20. Producers require water to grow and it is a necessary component of photosynthesis. The water is captured by the roots and carried through the stems and brought to the chloroplasts in the leaves.
  • OXYGEN LEAVING THE PLANT
  • The sun plays a huge role in photosynthesis, both for providing a source of energy and making the products. The sunlight is taken in through the leaves of the plant with the assistance of chlorophyll. During the light dependent reaction, ATP and NADPH are produced, which happen in the chloroplasts of cells.
  • PHOTOSYNTHESIS CONCLUSION
  • Glucose is the first named product in photosynthesis. Rather than exiting the plant, glucose is stored and used as an energy and food source.
  • GLUCOSE
  • Oxygen is the final product in the equation. Similarly to carbon dioxide, the O2 is released from the stoma. Plants are responsible for releasing oxygen into the atmosphere.
  • OXYGEN
  • The importance of photosynthesis is the oxygen produced by the plants. If it weren't for this process, humans and other species wouldn't be able to live. In all, with the presence of 6CO2, 6H2O, and sunlight, both C6H12O6 and 6O2 are made.
