How come the ball seem like it stopped for a moment?
Because of something called free fall.

Basically it's from the moment it leaves your hands right until the moment BEFORE it hits the ground.
Free Fall can only happen if the force of gravity is the only force acting on the object. Nothing else can touch the object.
So Free Falls happens when the ball is in the air?
