- Exposition
- Maple Street, a quiet, serene and peaceful neighborhood. Where children play and adults chat. Steve, the man in near the car and Les Goodman the man waving to him.
- Soon a massive streak of light crosses the sky. People are in confusion of what it is. Most think it is a meteor. Suddenly all the lights turn off and cars stop working. Charlie, another friend of Steve's joins the viewing party as they all stare at the blazing projectile in awe. The child and mother are Tommy and Sally, they also live in the neighborhood.
- Rising Action
- The kid (Tommy) raises a theory that the so called meteor was actually an Alien spaceship which he apparently read in a comic book.. Some of the Adults are outraged and some are confused. His mother however is defending him. Steve asks him to go on and the kid says that their was an impostor among them.
- Conflict
- The suspicion that Tommy brought causes people to accuse each other of being an impostor. In the midst of confusion, a neighbor (Pete Van Horn) previously went to another street to check if they had lights or electricity but the other man pictured (Charlie) Accidentally shoots him thinking he was an alien intruder.
- Climax
- Now people started blaming people left and right , passing the pillow on to anyone who performed irregular activities in order to accuse them of being an alien in disguise. This turned on everyone in the community, even Tommy.#160;
- Falling Action
- At this point the people that actually caused all the mayhem mock and ridicule the actions of the residents of Maple Street. This is a parable that shows how people will clash against one another in an uncertain situation.
- Resolution
