Cellular Respiration
Happens in the mitochondria.Uses glucose and oxygen.Makes energy (ATP), carbon dioxide, and water.Equation: C₆H₁₂O₆ + 6O₂ → 6CO₂ + 6H₂O + ATPReleases energy from glucose.Done by both autotrophs and heterotrophs.
Happens in the chloroplast.Uses sunlight, water, and carbon dioxide.Makes glucose (sugar) and oxygen.Equation: 6CO₂ + 6H₂O + light → C₆H₁₂O₆ + 6O₂Stores energy in glucose.Only autotrophs can do this.
Comparison: Photosynthesis vs Respiration
