- Hi everyone! I am Joey from Jakarta (Indonesia) and currently a full-time SUMA student of Fall 2024 class. I graduated from Sepuluh Nopember Institute of Technology with a bachelor’s degree in Chemical Engineering.
- Following graduation, I started working as a Field Engineer in SLB, a technology-based company for the energy industry. In the past 1.5 years, I invested most of my time with SLB Technology HQ and related stakeholders to design sustainable solutions for the first CCUS project in Papua, Indonesia. Throughout my career, I had the opportunities to work in Ecuador, Malaysia and Indonesia, focusing on well completion designs and installation.

- Having first-hand experiences on the complex reality between the energy demand and ecological challenges, I truly acknowledge the pressing need to balance economic benefits with the cost of integrating sustainable energy solutions into the energy production mix.
- Acquiring energy transition into realization transcribes complex tasks for some countries, such as managing the exposure of net-zero transition on the economy while expanding access to affordable, clean and secure energy. Therefore, I aim to integrate advanced engineering and sustainable business strategies in solving these initiatives.

- Within this course, I aim to explore financing mechanisms for managed fossil fuel energy phaseouts and renewable integration. This goal is aligned with my career aspiration, which to be a part of regulators that ensure the regulations and frameworks required to support and sustain the energy transitions are well-suited and implemented.
