It was okay.
I make an effort to have daily conversations with my friend at lunch. My friend gradually starts being more distant and cold towards me and our conversations lately have been dry. It had not been like this before.

Why is she moving further away from me? Does she not want to talk to me anymore? But there is no one on that side of the table?
-A few days later-
I stop initiating the conversation because it feels emotionally draining for me and it seems like she doesn't want to talk to me anymore.

Fine, I'll stop talking to her if she keeps on ignoring me. I've been investing too much energy in this friendship lately just by trying to talk to her and I feel like she doesn't even care about me at all.
I stopped reaching out to her after she kept on moving away from me.

Reflection (storyboardthat won't allow an extra panel): The conflict was handled in an unhealthy way. We never reached out to each other since, and I did not want to after she kept on distancing herself and because it no longer felt like a fulfilling friendship. Part of me also felt that we were naturally just drifting away from each other and maybe it was just time for us to stop being friends. Ultimately, this conflict was left unresolved.
