- Mrs Birling starts to get interrogated by the Inspector. She is chair of a well known woman's charity. Eva Smith comes to the charity pregnant and unmarried using the name of Mrs Birling. Mrs Birling reveals her lies and gets het to tell her true story of why she is here. Although Mrs Birling is still annoyed about Eva trying to use her name so she denies her help that she needed from the charity.

- Eric is dragged back into the room as that it is revealed that he raped Eva and got her pregnant. He was stealing money from his father to give to Eva although once she found out it was stolen she stopped accepting it. His parents are dissapointed that he got a woman pregnant unmarried espeically of that class. His alchol problem is also revealed by Sheila as he gets drunk a lot more than he should.

- The Inspector leaves after everyone had admitted to what they had done to Eva Smith. Then Gerald comes back into the house and states a theory that what if the Inspector is not an actual Inspector; as he acted weird and never let multiple people look at the same photo of her at once. Mr Burling then called the police department where they confirmed that there is no 'Inspector Goole'. They then called the infirmary and there was no girl that had died from suicide in moths. Mr and Mrs Birling were relieved and Sheila and Eric were in shock. Then they got a girl saying a girl has died in the infirmary from suicide, exactly how 'Eva Smith' supposedly died. a Inspector was then sent to their house.
