- Jonas has been selected for the "receiver of memories."
- I SEE COLOR!!
- Lets move on for your final training, which is receiving memories!
- That my boy, is the color red.
- Jonas lives in a society of a utopia, and lives a perfect life with his, friends, family, and neighbors. He's excited about the "ceremony of twelve" ( a ceremony where when they turn twelve their future job will be picked for them for the rest of their life's ). 
- What is my dad doing to that newborn!?!?!
- After them skipping Jonas during the "ceremony of twelve", Jonas thought he was never going to get picked or selected for any job. Though he becomes confused when he becomes the new, "Memories of Receiver."    
- Get back here Jonas!!
- After being selected to be the "Memories of Receiver," Jonas has the capacity to hear beyond. Meaning that Jonas breaks the ideal of "Sameness" by seeing color and things around him. Though this isn't his only thing he sees, as him and the Giver go through painful training to unlock the truth about this "Utopia."
- What's that sound and music I here?
- After going through the transition of process during training. He starts to realize something, the Giver shows him what "release" actually means and what his father does to newborn children that aren't met for the requirements of "maturing."  This breaks Jonas and realizes that maybe he shouldn't be here anymore. 
- Jonas escapes with his brother Gabriel, after realizing that he was going to be put to "release." He grabs one of the community bikes and leaves with it. After that his friend Asher (his bestfriend), chased him down on a controlled airplane as he was assigned to eliminate Jonas.
- Jonas ends up in winterly wonderland, where he and Gabriel swear that they heard  music and sounds coming from the house that seemed like an illusion at first, from a far.
