The Cold War
A war that broke out in Europe on 1914 that lasted until 1918. The war occurred because of the assassination of Archduke Franz Ferdinand which was heir to the Austro-Hungarian Empire. Austria-Hungary attacked Serbia in revenge which led the war from there. The US became involved because of German submarine warfare.
Bay of Pigs
Another War that broke out in Europe. This war went on from 1939 to 1945. World War 2 started because of Hitler's invasion on the neighboring country of Poland. The US joined this war because of Japan's surprise attack on Pearl harbor.
Cuban Missile Crisis
The Cold War was a rather "boring war", in the sense that there was barely any fighting between the two sides. Only intimidation. The US got involved to prevent the spread of communism.
Korean War
The Bay of Pigs was an event that happened after the CIA started training their soldiers to invade Cuba in hopes overthrowing their dictator known as Fidel Castro. The reason the US got involved in the first place was to overthrow Castro, even though the operation failed.
Russia started to place missiles in Cuba. Eventually the world was held against the ropes, as history was extremely close to having the biggest nuclear war ever. The US got involved to stop the placement of missiles in Cuba.
North Korea invaded South Korea in hopes of spreading communism. The reason why the US got involved was because they wanted to stop the spread of communism in Southeast Asia.
