  • The inventor of light therapy is Niels Ryberg Finsen, who won the Nobel Prize in Medicine in 1903. Going back to the light therapy, special cells in our eyes are sensitive to blue light, with a wavelength of about 460 to 480 nm. The suprachiasmatic nucleus (SCN), adjusts the production of hormones, leading to a better sleep schedule. Light exposure also affects the levels of certain neurotransmitters in the brain, particularly serotonin and dopamine, which play key roles in mood regulation.
