We cannot resist, there is no other option.
We must maintain hope and unity in these dark times.
On the quiet morning of 9 April 1940, Denmark was still sleeping peacefully.
But on the horizon, the shadows of war loomed over the Danish coast.
Denmark quickly fell to the German invasion.
We will not surrender. We will fight for our freedom.
The German flag was flying in the Danish capital.
Meanwhile, in Norway, the invasion was spreading along the coast.
Someday, freedom will return.
But the Norwegians would not give up easily.
The German occupation of Norway was becoming increasingly evident.
We will fight to the end!
In Denmark, life under occupation often involved difficult decisions.
Meanwhile, in Norway, resistance was taking hold.
Hope came to Norway from afar.
Life went on under the watchful eye of the German occupiers in Denmark.
The leader of the norwegian residence was speaking.
The occupation left its mark on daily life.
In Denmark, uncertainty was constant.
In Norway, resistance was growing in strength and determination.
Danish children grew up under occupation, but never forgot their identity.
And finally, the day of liberation approached.
Denmark and Norway would see the light at the end of the tunnel of German occupation.
World War II would come to an end, and freedom would shine again in Denmark and Norway.
United in adversity, these two Nordic countries would rise up once again.
