The Civil War took place in the United States 1861 due to  Slavery. 
I deserve freedom stop treating me as a slave

On Jan 1 1863 The Emancipation Proclamation was an order given by Abraham Lincoln to  free the slaves. Which was  successful and did eventually gave freedom to millions of slaves.
I demand freedom for the slaves!!
Abraham Lincoln is the most important man in the Civil War he led his country during those times and helped it remain strong  and successfully helped the slaves get there freedom.

April 14 1865
On April 14 1865 Abraham Lincoln was shot by Jhon Wikes Booth. He was the first US president to be assassinated. He was attending a play and when the play reached a point where the audience was laughing Jhon Wikes Booth entered his box and shot him in the back of his head 
Clara Barton was one of the most famous women in the Civil War  and the founder of the American red cross .  She risked her life to help soldiers and supply them. After finding her passion for helping people and working for the Red Cross in France she founded the American Red Cross on May 21 1881
April 9 1865
The Civil war ended in 1865 and freed more than four million enslaved Americans.
