  • On March 1st, 1781, the Articles of Confederation were ratified. It was the government's original constitution. It specified the voting circumstances and how each state would be represented. Additionally, it specified how the National Government would operate.
  • Federalists vs. Anti-Federalists
  • For everyone in the US, the Declaration of Independence was a magnificent moment. It was the day when we declared our independence from Britain. The Declaration of Independence was the first official statement of the right of the people of a country to create their own government.
  • The Virginia Plan
  • The setting of the constitutional convention was Philadelphia. The United States Constitution was written as a result of the meeting. Although the Articles of Confederation were to be revised, the constitutional convention also developed concepts for a new form of a system of government.
  • It was a conflict evolved over ratification, with the Federalists supporting a strong union and the Constitution's ratification and the Anti-Federalists against the establishment of a powerful national government and opposing ratification.
  • On May 29, 1787, the Virginia Plan was ratified. It suggested establishing a bicameral legislature with proportional representation in both houses.
