- On the streets of Paris, there's a tiny bakery tucked away in between a bookstore and a boutique on the corner of an alley. Mid-morning in October is dark, rainy, and cold, but the inside of the bakery is warm and comfortable with the sweet smell of pastries wafting through the cracks of the windows.
- Climax
- Anna, a nineteen year old with short brown hair and brilliant green eyes who recently finished high school and works at the bakery is talking with her friend Elise, who has long blonde hair and is shorter, who also works there. Business is slow today because of the rain, so Anna and Elise take the opportunity to catch up. Anna is ready to be out of her parents house, but she doesn't want to go to college. In the back of her mind is a lingering hope that she was meant for something more, something important.
- Falling Action
- Sorry!
- Madame Dubois suddenly bursts through the door to the back room. "ANNA! WHAT HAVE YOU DONE! The pastries! They're all burned to a crisp! You left the oven on OVERNIGHT! You stupid, stupid girl. YOU'RE FIRED!" she shrieked. "But Madame, I didn't..." Anna started, but Madame Dubois was already insisting that she take her things and get out.
- Resolution
- Your Majesty! We found her!
- Anna hadn't burned all the pastries, but Madame Dubois wouldn't listen. She threw Anna out into the rain with her things. She refused to cry, but she was furious with Madame Dubois for jumping to conclusions.
- Elise stood in the doorway, with mock pity on her face. "Sorry I got you fired. But Madame wasn't paying me enough so getting you fired gets me a raise. Sorry!" she said, and slipped back into the bakery. Anna was sad and frustrated. She wanted to accuse Elise, but she knew it would be for nothing. Madame Dubois liked Elise better, anyways.
- Anna started walking home, so confused about what had just happened and unsure of what to do next. Then a fancy looking official walked up to her and asked if her name was Anna. "Yes," she responded uncertainly, and the official turned around and yelled, "Your Majesty, we've found her!"
