- today we will be putting sir jhon A. macdonald on trial to see if he was the good guy people think he was. First we will start with the prosecutor
- Thank you judge. Sir jhon was not the good guy everybody thought he was. First of all he was the one who had created the residential schools and forced the native kids to go to them without being able to see their parents
- the reason Sir Jhon created the schools was to teach the new generation of native kids how to speak and read English to fit in better with the new way of life
- but that still doesn't explain why they where not allowed to see there parents and all the bad things that happened to allot of them
- although it is true that he made Canada into a country and the reason so many Europeans moved here it was done on the expense of many innocent peoples lives
- the schools might have been a bad idea but you cant deny the fact the he made it possible for Canada to become its own country and the reason so many Europeans moved here
- that still doesn't excuse Sir Jhon and how could the person with the most power in the country execute something that poorly. if it where really supposed to help them it should have been a normal school where they could go home at the end of the day and be treated with respect
- the schools where meant to help the new generation of natives but it was poorly executed and instead ended up hurting them
- I have heard enough. I hereby find Sir Jhon responsible for all the indecent thing that happened at the residential schools. this case is now closed
