- This is Huckleberry Finn, but his friend's call him Huck. Huck lives with the Widow Douglas and her sister Miss Watson because his mother passed away when he was a little boy and his father is a very bad man. Huck isn't a rule follower and he often gets into trouble with the Widow Douglas and Miss Watson.
- Do you see that little boy hiding behind the well with Huck? That's Tom Sawyer, Huck's best friend. Their favorite thing to do is to go on adventures and to get into trouble. Tom and Huck play tricks on Miss Watson's slave, Jim. Today Huck and his gang decided that today was the day to prank Jim. When Jim was fast asleep, Tom took Jim's hat right off his head so when he would wake, he would think witches took his hat.
- One day on his way home, Huck found the local newspaper on the ground and the front page said that the locals found a dead body in the water and they thought it was Huck's pap. Huck knew it wasn't pap because he saw Pap's footprints in the mud by his house. Because Huck saw the footprints he knew pap was back in town and Huck said to himself, "I used to be scared of him and I am now too." Pap is a really mean man and he is not nice to Huck.
