Well, some symptoms of dementia are delerium, hallucinations, paranoia, memory loss, mood swings, and drastic changes in personality.
Oh, dear! That sounds bad. Thankfully, I don't have any of those symptoms.
Yeah. Especially because dementia can have some serious consequences!
People with dementia can forget how to do things they've been doing for years; forget where they are or what the time or date is, which can lead to getting lost in familiar surroudings; be unable to find someting they put down; repeat things; and become depressed!
Well, there are ways to treat it, right?
Oh, okay. Well, how can I advise someone who has a relative with dementia?
For those with irreversible dementia, you could advise their family members to consider group therapy and implement the forms of treatment I was just tlaking about. If the dementia is reversible, then tell them to talk to a doctor about fixing the cause of the dementia.

Yes, though dementia is not always curable. Dementia can be slowed down by establishing a routine for the person with dementia, maintaining a safe home environment, and establishing a sense of usefulness for the person with dementia through simple chores. A relocation to a nursing home may also be necessary.
