King George passed an act called the tea act to save the British East India Company.This company was very important to British economy.
The ships with the British tea were sent to the Boston harbor .
Many colonists still thought of themselves as British citizens. They wanted the right to pick what tea they buy. They were mad so they started to plan a revolt.
The colonists placed people around the boat to prevent the British from unloading the boat.
On December 16,1773, the colonists walked to the harbor where British ships full of tea were anchored.
Dressed as native americans, the colonists boarded the ships . Then they threw overboard around 342 chests of tea and celebrated.
