  • Ah...
  • The skills... the skills!
  • Chi chi chi... I don't want this shame on my family...
  • That's a bit backward isn't it?
  • Indian girls aren't allowed to play soccer...
  • It's just culture, that's all
  • Jess is playing soccer in the park with some boys and her mother walks past and is shocked to witness this scene.
  • Jess' mother is ashamed and disappointed at her behaviour and insists that she behaves in a more culturally appropriate manner and learn how to cook a full traditional Punjabi dinner.
  • I'm not lying anymore!
  • Jess has snuck off to play soccer. In the change room Jess tells her teammates that her parents don't know she's there and that "Indian girls aren't allowed to play soccer". She further explains "It's just culture, that's all."
  • I don't want Jess to suffer... to make the same mistakes I did.
  • With Jess' fathers permission, Jess is allowed to play at the finals while her sisters wedding is taking place.
  • Jess has been offered a scholarship to one of the best universities in America, to play football professionally. She decides to tell her parents and this shows the development of her character.
  • Jess' dad supports her and thinks she's brilliant. He wont stand in her way and the family comes together.
