A cam and follower is a rotating part that causes a second part to move back and forth in a straight line to transmit motion and force, and you can find them in diesel fuel pumps.

Bevel gears are rotating machine elements used to transmit mechanical power between two intersecting shafts, either perpendicular or at an angle, and you can find them in automobiles.

Coding can play a part in the mechanisms because for the gear train coding can make them spin on their own without it having to be done by hand. Also, for universal joints you can hook them to a rod that's connected to a motor and code the rod to spin and make the universal joint rotate like a ferris wheel. and for the cam and follower it can be coded to spin and people can make very cool art out of it like a rocket on the moon. and finally the bevel gear can be coded to be used for robotics and automative.
