The younger Family lives in a small apartment in Southside, Chicago. Mama Lena received $10, 000 as Papa Younger life insurance.
CLIMAX
Mama, Walter, and Beneatha have different dreams. Mama's dream is to have a big house for the family, Walter's dream is to run a business of liquor, and Beneatha's dream is to become a doctor. They argue about where to spend the money. In the end, Mama's dream was fulfilled.
FALLING ACTION
Mama gave Walter the remaining money and told him to give some for Beneatha's education. Later on, a man named Karl Lindner visited them and offered a big amount of money just for them to leave the neighborhood. The family was offended and refused.
RESOLUTION
Bob went to their apartment to tell Walter that money they invested for Liquor store to Mr. Willy harris was stolen by Mr. Willy Harris himself. Another bad news is, including the $3000 that was for Beneatha's education was stolen too.
Walter called Mr. Lindner and talked about the his offer. Asagai offered Beneatha a marriage and wants to take her to Nigeria to become a doctor. That gave them a hope. Mama thinks that the offer of Mr. Lindner will leave Walter nothing.
Walter thought about it and asked Mr. Linder to leave. The Younger family got ready to leave the apartment and move in to their new home. Mama brought her plant that symbolizes her care and love for the family.
