- Nick moves to New York because the stocks were blooming. He gets a little cottage in the West egg.
- While Nick is at dinner with the Buchanan’s Nick finds out Tom is cheating on Daisy from Jordan Baker.
- As Nick is going back home on the West egg he sees Gatsby.
- ¨So i decided to go to East and learn the bond business¨
- ¨ As for Tom, the fact that he ‘had some woman in New York’ was really less surprising than that he had been depressed by a book.¨
- ¨And turning my head to watch it I saw that I was not alone—fifty feet away a figure had emerged from the shadow of my neighbor’s mansion… Something in his leisurely move- ments… suggested that it was Mr. Gatsby himself¨
