Storyboard Tekst

  • Hello again, Linnie! Tell me, what text to can you use for the proverb "We are afraid of things we do not know, just because we do not know them.
  • Well, I think I can use text to text. In the book The Rose Legacy, Anthea, the main character, is supposed to take horse back riding lessons at her uncle's farm. However, she is terrified because she didn't know how to ride a horse. She also didn't even know if she likedI horses at all!
  • She didn't have many reasons to be afraid, except for the fact that she had no idea whatsoever what she was doing, and the very thought of that made her fearfull.
  • I see...
  • Perhaps...
  • There's a certain feeling of helplessness that comes with not knowing anything about what you have to do. This helplessness is what Anthea was feeling, and that's how is relates to the proverb.
  • Okay, well how do you think this proverb relates to chapter 10?
  • In chapter 10, Tree-ear is on his way to Songdo, to deliver the pots for Min. On his way, while he was resting, he heard noises in the brush.
  • He starts freaking out entirely! He has no idea what's out there; it could be a squirrel (if squirrels live in Korea) or it could be a bear for all he knows (if bears live in Korea). All he know is that there's something out there, but he doesn't know anything about it at all.
  • He has that feeling of uncertainty, that feeling of helplessness that I was talking about earlier. He can only hope that it will go away and leave him unharmed. He doesn't know what it is, yet he thinks the worst. It relates to the proverb because Tree-ear was afraid of something because he did not know what it was.
