The Moloto development corridor is a huge infrastructure initiative by the south African government aimed to improve transport and increase economic growth along Moloto road that passes through Gauteng, Mpumalanga and Limpopo.

SCOPE:To mordernize and upgrade the R573 Moloto Road and incorporate effective public transportation in order to increase safety and shorten travel times and promote economic growth in the three provinces.
OBJECTIVES:1.Reduce the high rates of accidents.2.Improve public transport access.3.Create jobs.4.Make transport reliable and affordable for workers and students.

Despite the project being planned to improve safety there has been minimal progress on the road upgrades.
Failure factors:1. Lack of funding.2. Poor planning and coordination.3. Lack of communication.4. Inadequate stakeholder engagement.
Lessons learned:1. Local communities must be involved.2. Proper planning must be conducted.3. Budget for the project.
