- Katies day at school 
- Katies Dream 
- What if I fail? Or don't know anything on the test? How will I get my grade up?
- Connection from her dream to the theories  
- Katie has a test tomorrow in school and she is very nervous about it. 
- Ryans drive home from work 
- Later that night after Katie got home she had a dream of her failing her test. She studied before she went to bed but still was not 100%. 
- Ryans dream 
- She went to school the next day and was very stressed about her test. Cartwright believes that our dreams reflect the same thoughts, concerns, fears, and problems or emotions that we have when we are awake. Katie's dream showed this because she had a dream about doing poorly on the test and she also thought she was going to do poorly when she was in school. Her dream also shows Freuds theory because he believes that our dreams can show our past, or future concerns. 
- Connection from dream to theories 
- When Ryan drives home from work everyday he is always very careful because he does not want to get into a car accident. Him and his family have always been very scared of getting in accidents and his parents always tell him to be very safe and couscous. 
- Later that night Ryan had a dream about getting into a car accident on his was to work. 
- . 
- The next day when Ryan was driving to work someone hit him and he realized his dream became reality. This shows both the threat simulation theory and the activation-synthesis theory. It is about how he and his family have always had fears about getting into car accidents and then it happened the day after he had a dream about it. His brain went through threatening situations when he was asleep to show his response when he was awake.
