- Caesar ignores the Soothsayer and Artemidorus’ warnings. He dismisses Artemidorus’ letter.

- Metellus Cimber begs Caesar to pardon his banished brother, but Caesar refuses, proclaiming his unwavering stance.
- Is there no voice more worthy than my own, To sound more sweetly in great Caesar’s ear for the repealing of my banish’d brother?

- (Brutus) Caesar, I loved you, but I loved Rome more.

- The conspirators stab Caesar, with Brutus delivering the final blow.

- After Caesar’s death, the conspirators justify their actions.
- Ambition’s debt is paid.
- (Citizen), is he not an honorable man? He did this for us, for Rome.

- Maybe we were wrong about Caesar. He cared for us.
- Mark Antony arrives and cleverly asks to speak at Caesar’s funeral while feigning allegiance to the conspirators.

- At Caesar’s funeral, Brutus speaks first, explaining the assassination as a necessary act to stop Caesar’s ambition.
- Not that I loved Caesar less, but that I loved Rome more.

- This was the most unkindest cut of all.
- Friends, Romans, countrymen, lend me your ears.
- Antony turns the crowd against the conspirators with his emotional speech. He subtly accuses the conspirators, using Caesar’s will and his wounds as symbols of their betrayal.

- Antony’s words incite the citizens to riot, and chaos spreads across Rome. The citizens start to chant.
- Revenge! About! Seek! Burn! Fire! Kill! Slay!

- The mob mistakenly kills Cinna the poet, believing him to be one of the conspirators. This demonstrates the destructive force of mob mentality.
- (Cinna), I am cinna, not cinna the conspirator.
- His name is cinna, pluck but his name out of his heart, and turn him going.
- Tear him for his bad verses.
